Q. What is the third article of the Creed?
A. The third article of the Creed is, ‘who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin
Mary’.
Conceived by the Holy Spirit. Our Lord was made man by the power of the Holy Ghost.
The Virgin Mary. The Mother of our Lord, who by the power of God remained a virgin
all her life.
 
Q. What does the third article mean?
A. The third article means that God the Son took a Body and Soul like ours, in the womb of the
Blessed Virgin Mary, by the power of the Holy Spirit.
 
Q. Had Jesus Christ any father on earth?
A. Jesus Christ had no father on earth: St. Joseph was only his guardian or foster-father.
 
Q. Where was our Saviour born?
A. Our Saviour was born in a stable at Bethlehem.
Bethlehem. The City of David, about six miles from Jerusalem. Our Lord was born here,
as the prophet Micheas had foretold.
 
Q. On what day was our Saviour born?
A. Our Saviour was born on Christmas Day.
