Reflection on YOUR PRIORITIES

Peter spoke up, “look we have left everything and followed you”. Yes, Jesus said to them and I tell you that anyone who leaves home… (Mk 19: 28-29)
In our sojourn on earth several things command our attention. Many desires churn in the human heart. Your daily endeavour presents you with multitude of choices and decisions to make. We are attracted continuously to many things.
But what is your priority on earth? Your priority depicts where you are going! Your choice of preferences makes your life. Your values are seen with the decision you make! Your priority takes you higher or lower in life.
What do you prefer over other things? What are the first things in your value? The first thing in your value system makes your life. Whatever you sow, you shall surely reap!
Jesus is clearly aware of this when he assured Peter that everyone who gives up something for the sake of the kingdom will have a hundred fold. He means that one who gives higher priority to kingdom value will receive higher blessings from the kingdom. Your priority decides your stage in life.
Have you ever given out anything for the sake of the kingdom of God? Do you still esteem the value and virtues of the kingdom? Are you still interested in a life of sacrifice for the sake of the kingdom? Do you ever consider purity as a costly virtue? Have you any priority in life that runs contrary to the will of God?
The wise man was aware of this life of sacrifice when he said: “The sacrifice of the just man pleases the Lord and will not be forgotten” (Sir. 35:6). Your priority for the sake of the kingdom of God is very precious to God! He keeps record of all you have given up for the sake of salvation!
